Harpist

Alison Simpson

Alison Simpson has an extensive repertoire which is inclusive of all musical genres. She plays on a beautiful gold concert harp and has a variety of harps of all sizes to fit any venue.

Alison is a free-lance professional harpist in the Tri-State area, performing with regional symphonies and choral societies. She enjoys playing private events such as weddings, parties, and bridal showers.

Alison graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Music with a B.M. in Harp Performance where she studied with world-renowned harpist Alice Chalifoux. She has performed in Carnegie Hall and the Philadelphia Academy of Music and was a former solo performer with Young Audiences of New Jersey.

For many years, Alison was a frequent entertainer on the luxury cruise ship Queen Elizabeth 2 (QE2) until the ship was retired in 2008. She has produced a CD, Harps Afire, featuring herself and a second harpist. Alison served three terms as President of the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Harp Society and was co-chair for the 2004 National Harp Conference. She maintains a private studio in Doylestown, PA.
